Dorvilma, James Awarded PSUAC Player Of The Week Awards

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine was represented on the Penn State University Athletic Conference weekly women's soccer award list by Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret), who was named goalkeeper of the week, and Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury), who was tabbed as the offensive player of the week, on Tuesday.

Dorvilma earned the third PSUAC Goalkeeper of the Week award of her career after stopping nine-of-11 shots during a 2-2 draw versus Lincoln University last week. Seven of her saves came during the second half as the Lions overcame a two-goal deficit to force the tie.

James started the Lions' comeback effort with the team's first goal of the season. She followed her own initial shot that was turned aside, knocking home the rebound during the 81st minute to cut Brandywine's deficit to 2-1.

James' goal was the 13th of her 25-match career. She owns 30 total points and is a two-time First Team All-PSUAC standout.

Dorvilma has recorded 21 saves this fall, second-most among PSUAC goalkeepers. She has appeared in 19 matches for the Lions since 2019, stopping 133 shots, while posting nine wins and six shutouts.

Brandywine (0-1-1) is back at home Tuesday to face Penn State Schuylkill at 3:30 PM.
