Seven First-Half Goals Lead Brandywine To Victory

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine scored seven times during the opening half and cruised to an 8-1 Penn State University Athletic Conference women's soccer victory over Penn State Hazleton on Wednesday afternoon.

Zoey Lineman (West Deptford, N.J./GCIT) got the scoring run started during the 15th minute and Jaylin Berrios (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey) added a marker from long range 12 minutes later to double the margin.

Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) netted the first of her three goals at the 30:13 mark, beginning a barrage of Lions' tallies as Brandywine found the back of the net five times over the next 12 minutes. Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) scored twice, while Delaney Wenner (Middletown, Del./Delaware Military Academy) drove in a feed from Berrios and James provided the seventh goal just before halftime.

James' goal during regulation's final minute, her third of the day, provided the final margin.

Brandywine recorded 29 shots, compared to just one from Hazleton, while earning a sweep of the season series. Emily Orr (Eddystone, Pa./Ridley) did not need to make a save, earning her third win of the season in net.

Brandywine (9-5-1, 8-1 PSUAC) closes out the regular season at Penn State Mont Alto Saturday beginning at 1:00 PM.
