Dorvilma And James Receive Second PSUAC Player Of The Week Awards

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine's Demareste Dorvilma (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) and Jess James (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) both earned their second Penn State University Athletic Conference Player of the Week award of the fall as Dorvilma was named Goalkeeper of the Week and James received Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.

Dorvilma was the starting goalkeeper during both of Brandywine's victories last week. She logged all 90 minutes, while making seven saves during a 6-3 triumph at Penn State Schuylkill on Wednesday. Three days later, she played the first 65 minutes of a 5-0 shutout victory over Penn State Beaver.

Dorvilma ranked third in the PSUAC with 50 saves during eight appearances this fall. She owns a 2.54 goals against average and three victories in net.

James scored five times during the Lions' victory over Schuylkill and totaled seven goals and one assist overall last week. She scored four times during the first 40 minutes at Schuylkill and added a fifth goal late in the second half, finishing the day one goal shy of a Brandywine single-game record. James tallied two goals and assisted on another against Beaver on Saturday.

In nine starts this fall, James has scored a PSUAC-leading 12 goals. She also tops the conference with 26 total points as she has added two assists.

Brandywine travels to Penn State Hazleton on Thursday for a 6:30 PM game.
