Nearey Earns A Pair Of Weekly Pitching Honors

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine junior Dan Nearey (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) was named pitcher of the week by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Nearey owns a 1-0 record through four appearances (three starts) this spring. He earned his victory in a complete game performance against Penn State Mont Alto on Feb. 27 when he allowed just one earned run on five hits in 7.0 innings and struck out four.

In 16.2 innings on the mound, Nearey ranks second on the team with 13 strikeouts. Five of those Ks came in 6.0 innings in a victory over Wentworth in Florida last week.

A USCAA Second Team All-American in 2021, Nearey owns a 4-1 career record with 48 strikeouts in 46.1 innings.

Brandywine (5-5) hosts New Jersey City next Wednesday night at 6:00 PM.
