Barrouk Moves To Second All-Time In Scoring; Lions Drop Final Non-Conference Matchup
TACOMA PARK, Md. – Senior Bryce Barrouk (Glen Mills, Pa./Rustin) moved to second on the Lions' all-time scoring list, but Penn State Brandywine was defeated 78-60 at Washington Adventist during the Lions' final non-league contest of the year on Sunday afternoon.
Barrouk upped his 92-game career total to 1,503 points by recording 15 markers in 35 minutes of action, passing Rasheed Wilkins for second all-time. Wilkins netted 1,491 points from 2010-13. Mike Thornton is Brandywine's all-time leader, having poured in 2,637 points.
Barrouk opened the game's scoring with a three-pointer and Brandywine led for the first eight minutes before a 7-0 Shock spurt put the hosts on top.
WAU opened up an 12-point edge following an 11-0 surge, but the Lions trimmed the margin to seven by the half after Barrouk knocked down three free throws and Olayinka Itabiyi (Brookhaven, Pa./Chester) sank a layup.
The Lions cut their deficit as low as six points following a pair of free throws from Jordan Graves (Media, Pa./Strath Haven); however, the Shock outscored Brandywine 16-4 during the next four minutes to pull away for good.
Graves knocked down all four of his free throw attempts and added 11 points, while Colin Hockenbrock (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) and Johnta Dunson (Philadelphia, Pa./Freire Charter) both notched nine points.
Brandywine (6-7, 5-2 PSUAC) returns to conference play Saturday at Penn State New Kensington (5:00 PM).
