Amanda Floyd Earns Second Team All-American Award

RICHMOND, Va. -- Senior Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) represented the Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team on the United States Collegiate Athletic Association All-American list as she claimed second team honors on Sunday.

Floyd was the ninth-leading scorer in the USCAA this winter, pouring in 18.1 points per game over 26 games for the Lions. She reached the 20-point mark 11 times and scored over 30 points on three occasions, including a 36-point showing against Penn State Mont Alto.

Now a two-time all-American after earning honorable mention accolades last season, Floyd's 52 three-pointers were the eighth-highest total nationally. She connected on 34 percent of her three-point attempts, ranking ninth in that category. Overall from the field, Floyd shot 45 percent to lead the Lions.

Defensively, Floyd averaged 3.0 steals per game to tie for 13th among USCAA women's basketball players. Ten of her 78 steals came in one game against Penn State Schuylkill when she produced one of her five double-doubles.

Floyd also led Brandywine with 23 blocked shots and ranked second on the team in rebounding at 6.2 boards per game.

Through three seasons at Brandywine, Floyd ranks fourth all-time in scoring with 1,302 points.
