Lewandowski And Mushinski Repeat As PSUAC Players Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- For the second-straight week, Penn State Brandywine's April Lewandowski (Atco, N.J./Hammonton) and Kaylee Mushinski (Allentown, N.J./Allentown) were named Penn State University Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week. Lewandowski was selected as the Pitcher of the Week, while Mushinski was named Hitter of the Week.

Lewandowski, who was also named United States Collegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, fired a complete-game three-hitter to earn her fourth win of the season last Thursday. She struck out three batters and limited Cedar Crest College to one earned run. Lewandowski also helped herself at the plate with three hits and three runs scored.

Mushinski continued her hot streak at the plate with four hits during the doubleheader sweep of Cedar Crest, including her third three-hit game of the season during game two. She extended her hitting streak to 10-straight games, while driving in two runs and scoring twice.

Lewandowski is tied for the PSUAC lead in wins and has posted a 1.75 earned run average, while striking out 15 over five appearances this spring. Mushinski owns a conference-high 21 hits in 39 at-bats and also leads the league in runs batted in with 18.

Brandywine is at home Thursday for a non-conference tilt with Haverford College beginning at 3:00 PM.
