Brandywine Blanks York 7-0

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine saw seven different players net a goal as the Lions rolled to a home Penn State University Athletic Conference men's soccer victory over Penn State York by a 7-0 count on Tuesday.

Brandywine wasted no time getting on the board, scoring one of the quickest goals in team history. Just 16 seconds into the match, Ethan Harper (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) found Alexis Cordova Bernal (Oxford, Pa./Avon Grove), who deposited the game's opening tally.

Nineteen minutes later, the Lions struck for their second goal of the opening half when Ethan Pace (Stowe, Pa./Pottsgrove) lofted a long shot from well outside the box and snuck it under the crossbar for his first goal of the year.

Brandywine tacked on five more goals during the final 45 minutes. First, Josh Land (Boerne, Texas./Samuel V. Champion) found the back of the net during the 51st minute. Less than six minutes later, Harper's strike off Connor Lines' (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) cross made the count 4-0.

Christian Zavala (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett), Alex Sydor (White Plains, N.Y./Ardsley) and Khafren Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) added the last three tallies during the final 22 minutes to provide the final score.

Brandywine produced 36 shots and put 17 on net, while yielding just two shots, both of which were stopped by John Simpson (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) during the second half. Elijah DeBooth (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson), who was named PSUAC Goalkeeper of the Week earlier Tuesday, earned his third win after playing the first 45 minutes.

Brandywine (6-2-2, 2-0 PSUAC) opens a three-game road trip Saturday at DeSales at 3:30 pm.
