ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Despite registering 21 shots on goal, the Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team was held off the scoreboard during a 0-0 draw at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
Brandywine outshot Lehigh Valley 29-1 and put 21 of its attempts on target, but Lehigh Valley goalkeeper Kenneth Dyer stopped all 21.
Brandywine, which held the hosts without a shot attempt until the 105th minute, recorded the game's top scoring chance during the 99th minute when Ethan Pace's (Stowe, Pa./Pottsgrove) shot rang off the crossbar.
Pace was one-of-four Lions to produced two shots on goal, while both Joey Cairy (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) and Khafren Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) tallied three attempts on net.
John Simpson (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) played all 110 minutes in net for the Lions, making one save. He saw his record move to 3-2-2 this fall. Dyer needed to make eight first-half stops and nine more in the second before adding three saves during the two overtime periods.
Brandywine (7-3-3, 3-0-1 PSUAC) is at home Tuesday to face Penn State Scranton at 4:00 pm.
