DeSales Upends Brandywine With Late Score

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- A goal during the 83rd minute was the difference as DeSales University topped the Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Dimeji Oyinkolade recorded the game-winning strike off a feed from Eric Clouse at the 82:20 mark, breaking the scoreless battle. 

Goalkeeper Elijah DeBooth (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) kept the game scoreless by stopping the first six shots he faced before seeing his consecutive scoreless appearances streak end at six. Bulldogs' netminder Nathan Hatzfield turned aside all four shots he faced to pitch the shutout for the hosts.

Alexis Cordova Bernal (Oxford, Pa./Avon Grove) recorded a first-half shot on goal for the Lions, while Alex Sydor (White Plains, N.Y./Ardsley) and Christian Zavala (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) put shots on net during the final 45 minutes. Brandywine tallied six shots overall.

Brandywine (6-3-2, 2-0 PSUAC) returns to conference play Wednesday at Penn State Mont Alto (4:00 pm).
