Sydor Nets Three As Brandywine Rallies Past Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pa. – Alex Sydor (White Plains, N.Y./Ardsley) scored all three second half goals as the Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team rallied to defeat Penn State Mont Alto 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Despite outshooting Mont Alto 11-2 during the first half, Brandywine found itself in a 1-0 hole after Aiyman Alsibae headed in the match's first goal during the 17th minute.

Brandywine continued to trail until the 64th minute when Sydor took Christian Zavala's (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) feed and deposited his 10th goal of the fall. Less than two minutes later, Sydor found the back of the net again, putting Brandywine on top 2-1.

Sydor finished off his third hat trick of the year, adding an insurance tally that was assisted by Josh Land (Boerne, Texas./Samuel V. Champion), at the 85:21 mark.

Brandywine, which won its 47th consecutive PSUAC match and is now undefeated in 56-straight conference games, outshot Mont Alto 24-3 and attempted all 14 of the match's corner kicks. John Simpson (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) needed to make just one save to earn his third victory of the season.

Brandywine (7-3-2, 3-0 PSUAC) concludes its three-game road trip Saturday at Penn State Lehigh Valley (1:00 pm).
