Brandywine Rolls By Scranton 8-0

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team had no problem with Penn State Scranton on Tuesday, easing to a 8-0 triumph on its home field.

Brandywine, which outshot Scranton 43-3, owned a 2-0 lead at the half and added six more goals during the final 45 minutes.

Alex Sydor (White Plains, N.Y./Ardsley) tapped in Ethan Pace's (Stowe, Pa./Pottsgrove) crossing pass for the match's opening goal at the 15:53 mark. Brandywine added a second goal, a penalty kick off the foot of Raymond Kelly (Middletown, Del./Middletown), 14 minutes later.

Pace made the score 3-0 early in the second half before Kelly netted his second goal of the game during the 52nd minute to up the margin to four.

Alexis Cordova-Bernal (Oxford, Pa./Avon Grove) collected his first of two second-half tallies at the 68:04 mark, while Jeff Kuser (Reading, Pa./Wilson) found the back of the net for the first time this fall in the 70th minute.

Ryan Stevens (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) and Cordova Bernal later scored just 21 seconds apart to provide the final scoring.

Pace and Khafren Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) both provided two assists, while John Simpson (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) made two stops during the first half to earn the win in net.

Brandywine (8-3-3, 4-0-1 PSUAC) hosts Penn State Greater Allegheny Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
