Brandywine Routs Wilkes-Barre 10-0

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine scored 27 seconds into the first half and never looked back en route to a 10-0 Penn State University Athletic Conference men's soccer victory over Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday afternoon.

Alex Sydor (White Plains, N.Y./Ardsley) scored his first of two goals off a crossing feed from Joey Cairy (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) to make the score 1-0 less than a minute into the contest.

After another Sydor marker, Ethan Pace (Stowe, Pa./Pottsgrove) assisted on Brandon Rochester's (Chester, Pa./The Christian Academy) goal and then netted one of his own to up the lead to 4-0 after 39 minutes.

Brandywine tacked on four more goals during the final five minutes of the opening half. Cairy, Khafren Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Learning Academy), Alexis Cordova Bernal (Oxford, Pa./Avon Grove) and Josh Land (Boerne, Texas./Samuel V. Champion) all found the back of the net.

Sam Rodriguez (Media, Pa.) and JT Holstein (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) added the final two tallies during the second half.

Sydor finished the day with five points on two goals and one assist, while Cairy, Land, Rochester, Pace and Smith all tallied a goal and an assist. Rory Travers (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) did not face a shot and earned the win in goal.

Brandywine (12-3-3, 8-0-1 PSUAC) visits Penn State New Kensington on Saturday for its final PSUAC match of the season at 2:00 pm.
